The Ryder Recording Project got its start with a cover of the WCKR SPGT song, "You, Being So Fond of Tang," which was shared with a variety of friends and received generally good feedback. (For those of you not familiar with WCKR SPGT's body of work, we strongly recommend you visit the
Official WCKR SPGT Website)
This song was quickly followed by series of songs generally recorded when the staff of Chucklehound Entertainment were trying to avoid doing work for their actual employers. Since these songs have an extremely low level of artistic cohesion, the artists were a little unwilling to refer to themselves as a band, so combined the address of the Chucklehound HQ with the always popular catch-all term "Recording Project."
Lately, Ryder has jumped whole-heartedly on the
bootleg bandwagon, with some entertaining mixes of other people's work. These have attracted small amounts of attention, which is probably for the best.
The songs range in style from straight-forward, sample-heavy indie pop to abstract drum n' bass (and almost always with some level of copyright infringement!) These tracks are available exclusively here at chucklehound.com, but feel free to share them with your friends.
